Pathway Law began in April of 2011 when Daniel Whittal began operating his new law practice out of the basement in his home in Chatham, Ontario. Daniel’s legal career began in one of New York City’s top law firms. But like other young professionals, he felt pulled back to his hometown. His practice opened as Daniel Whittal, Barrister + Solicitor, and grew to operate as Whittal + Company Law Firm from 2013 to 2021. Then, in the fall of 2021 the firm changed their name to Pathway Law to better reflect the dynamic team that performs expertly to serve our clients every day. As a team, we consider Pathway Law to be one of the best places to work in Ontario.

Daniel has always called Chatham-Kent home. He’s an active member of the community and a supporter of the arts and many non-profit organizations in CK. In addition to his legal studies, Dan is a lifelong student of karate, and is a 5th degree black belt. He’s the founder of Zanshin Dojo Karate Club in Chatham, one of the area’s only schools of classical karate. He loves to travel in his free time but also enjoys a quiet evening at home with family, good food, and vintage wine.

Harmon is an associate lawyer at Pathway Law with a practice focused on estate planning, real estate, and business law. Raised in Southwestern Ontario, he’s committed to providing the practical, relationship-focused service that defines Pathway Law. Outside the office, Harmon enjoys running, Formula 1, hockey, cooking, baking, and collecting vinyl records.
